How tickets are sold

TYPES OF TICKET SALES

Depending on what Event Organisers decide, tickets can be made available to buy at different times and in a few different ways.

Presale

Event Organisers often use a mix of sales and distribution strategies to reach their goals and sell as many tickets as possible. This can include fan club presales to reward loyal supporters with first access, or tickets being made available to certain groups like credit card or mobile network customers ahead of the general sale, which can help offset tour costs and keep overall prices lower.

Look out for official presale announcements in newsletters and social media posts from us, the event, or venue. Always be sure to follow the directions on how to access the presale, which can mean entering via a specific URL or using a passcode.

General Sale

This is when tickets are made available to everyone. During this time, anyone can visit the Ticketmaster website or app for tickets.

TYPES OF TICKETS

Mobile Tickets

Used on most events today, these can be downloaded in the Ticketmaster App – you can save to your mobile wallet too. If ticket transfer is available (this is up to Event Organisers), you can easily transfer tickets to family and friends.

VIP

Event Organisers may decide to offer some tickets as “VIP” which can include physical perks like merchandise, front row tickets, and/or autographs or special experiences like a pre-show party, meet & greet or sound check.

Collector Tickets

Available on some events, these are customised with the tour poster and can be worn around your neck on a lanyard. Some will have a barcode to use it as your ticket. Non-barcoded Collector Tickets won’t grant you access to the event but are a great souvenir.
